Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)
is a form of
Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) affecting the arteries outside
the heart and brain. Narrowing or blockage of the arteries
results in the reduction of blood supply to the limbs. Patients
suffering from PAD are at high risk of having a heart attack or
stroke, without adequate treatment 30% die within 5 years. Many of
these deaths are preventable if PAD is diagnosed and treated.
